This was our second time visiting this location. Both times have been top notch care, from the receptionist, the PA and the nurses. Husband stepped on a nail and we needed to get him a tetanus shot. We only waited about 10 minutes before going back to exam room. He was examined and as we expected, given a tetanus and also prescription for a antibotic.”

Did I just go to MD Express or did I go to MD BEST YESSS! Let me tell you, I have been in pain and it was time to go get my ankle checked out. Anyone that’s been in pain knows the feeling of fighting to deal with pain, the moment I walked in I was greeted with a warm friendly smile from Hailey. Now the reason off the top I felt good was because I can see she was genuine and compassionate, so it was her true self. Then she even asked what am I to be seen for and gave me the option to tell her or write it down. I was like wow this is empathy. I could imagine someone coming for something embarrassing and they would have to shout it out. Great job, Hailey. I then go to sit and wait for my name to be called and the positive energy just swung open that door from the Medical Assistant, Sam. His energy was so positive, warming, and inviting. The entire time I was at ease. He was relatable and funny. Medical Assistant Sam, keep on doing your thing…”

“The only reason why I stress the MA is because there is someone else named Sam and I want the proper Sam that actually helped me get his flowers. So once I leave I am greeted by the doctor. It was Dr. David Rosenberg! I mean from the moment he came into my room his demeanor was well, pleasant, and kind. He actually felt like he could place himself in my shoes and understand what I was complaining about and he would explain in detail what I was dealing with and the possible options. This was a doctor in Urgent Care that actually showed compassion and cared for me as a patient and not a number. So the next plan of action was an x-ray. Oh boy, Melanie walks in the room just smiling with a bubbly contagious personality. She was very sweet and handled me with care making sure I wasn’t nervous. She explained to me in detail what she was about to do before doing it and calmed me down. My ankle was in pain so for the different x-ray position she handled me with care. Afterwards, she talked with me keeping me engaged while smiling and taking me back to my room. Now, I’m waiting for the doctor for my results. I am not lying when I say usually you have to wait forever, but another knock on the door and it was Dr. Rosenberg. He gave me my results, broke it down to me and told me what all needs to be done, what’s the next plan of action, and actually asked for my input in the situation. I was happy with the outcome and was excited all over again. I thought, “man, this doctor should be my primary doctor.” He knew his stuff and was amazing. Another knock on the door, it was Aretha. She came in with a smile and was talking friendly while she was setting up to put a bandage on my ankle as well as my ankle brace. So with her in the room it felt like no time had went by at all. She never let there be an awkward moment or that silence when someone is doing something. It felt like we had been friends before because we were just chatting while she was putting on my brace and explaining and showing me all the things I needed to know at the same time. She even gave me advice on how to put my wrap on by which side it should be facing great advice! While she was finishing up, Dr. Rosenberg came in himself to go over the discharge papers with me, again re-explaining the plan of action and made sure I didn’t have any questions or concerns. After he left, Aretha put the final touches on my brace. Then I was ready to go. As I walked out and saw majority of the team that worked on me in the nurses station, I had to let all them know that each and every one of them is in the right business of helping people and making a difference. I let them know that they did well. This was my experience at MD Express this evening and after all the concern and care. If there are more people like this crew in the world, we all truly would be happy. Thank you again Hailey, Sam, Dr. Rosenberg, Melanie and Aretha. Here are your flowers! That was not in a specific order that was the order in which each and everyone of you came into my life. Thank you MD Express for hiring great people.”

This location is hands down the best medical care my family has ever received. We regularly cannot get sick appointments with my children’s pediatrician and because we have 5 children ages 11-2 we have recently needed urgent care quite often. Every dr we have seen at this location has given us superior care. Better care than we Al have received at hospitals or our local pediatrician. They truly listen, and provide answers and information with patience and never make you feel like they are rushing you out the door. We have started bypassing even trying to get a sick visit with pediatrician because the doctors at this MD express take better care of my family. Highly recommend this location for all Williamsburg families. They also are extremely fast!”

 These types of medical facilities get a bad wrap, because people expect quick and easy service, but that is not always possible. Two of my younger children and I needed to use this location last night, and PA- Diane Sturghill was a life-saver!!! I made appts that morning, but due to an error only one of my children would have been treated. She made sure they both were registered and taken care of. Completely professional, compassionate, and understanding. Her entire demeanor helped calm my 7 and 5 year old, and made the entire process less stressful for me. Of course, I don’t want to have to return, but after this experience, I definitely trust this Team with my family, which is the most valuable thing to me! – Eric F.

My husband had a fish hook buried in his finger. We arrived and were greeted by very friendly staff. The office was very clean and our wait was very short. The doctor came in within a few minutes and took great care in removing the hook. One of the best urgent care visits we’ve ever experienced. We would recommend.”

 I took my mother to be seen because she was very ill. She saw Dr. Eric Obie. He was very thorough and very sweet. The next day, I had to take my stepdad in and we saw Dr. Obie again. When he saw me, he asked about my mother and when he was done examining my stepdad, he asked if he could call to check on them as he was worried about them progressing to the point of needed to go to the ER. Today he called to check on them. This type of follow up is something you don’t see much of these days and I am grateful for his thoughtfulness and attention to my parents during their illness. I was very impressed with this location. I usually go to another urgent care and will not be going back there ever again. I’ll be using MD Express from now on. I had an appointment time for 12 noon and they called me in at 12:02! Facility was very clean and the providers were extremely friendly and knowledgeable.”

On my way to MD Express for my scheduled appt, I had car issues in which I was going to be late. Not only did the woman at the check in desk, answering the phone, offer to help in whatever way she could, she assured me many times that they would see both my children when we got there. The nurse who called to let me know we were all set to come into the building also said to take my time and get there safely and they would see my children no matter what. It took so much extra stress off knowing my kids would be seen and they cared about us beyond just being patients. One woman even offered to come get my 3 children and myself as she was worried; she called twice to check in and see how things were going. My experience once there was also top-notch. Once we finally arrived, we were seen almost immediately and the nurse and physician both listened to why my 2 sons were being seen, expressed concern as well and agreed with my thoughts. The Lab tech who tested my 7 & 11 year old was as quick and painless as he could be knowing that a Flu/COVID swab is not fun. I highly recommend MD Express Hampton and appreciate all the staff there.”

I am an eighty year old disabled, retired California police officer who was directed to the Newport News facility. I became very ill while cruising the Chesapeake Bay and was directed by my California physician to go to an emergency room. Dr. Bruce Maulbetsch immediately interceded before I was even processed and sent me to the nearest hospital where it was determined that I had internal GI bleeding. I was immediately admitted and within hours given a blood transfusion. Although I later learned that many persons die before such bleeding is diagnosed and treated, I was able to leave the hospital two days later. My partner and I were able to rent a car and reunite with our cruise ship after a two-day hospitalization. I’ve had over 36 surgeries and had six titanium additions to my body, and I cannot recall ever having been treated better. Dr. Maulbetsch was fantastic, both in recognizing my symptoms immediately and taking direct immediate action for which I am extremely grateful. I was totally impressed by the care and level of expertise I experienced at this facility. If it was not for M.D. Express, I wouldn’t be here today.”

I really appreciate that Dr. Charles took the time to sit and talk with me about the medical issue and what he could do for me. Whenever he is on duty and I am sick I will certainly make my way to M. D. Express.”

Clean and efficient office which is what you should expect from a medical office. But the staff is the best part. I had to take two small kids on two separate occasions with the flu. The staff was kind and when I had to wait a little longer to be seen with my second child Courtney brought out stickers and cups and some skittles (with my permission) to keep my little one happy. I would highly recommend to everyone.”

I just want to thank the Williamsburg Urgent Care staff for another great experience at MD Express. My 13 yr old son had a fever and sore throat for a few days and had a rash all over his torso. I ran him over to MD Express and we were in and out with a prescription in hand in about an hour. As a single working mom, it is a huge help to be able to run one of my kids into MD Express when it is too late in the day to get into their regular doctor. My son was seen by Dr. Renforth last night, who has such a wonderful way with kids that my son talked about him the whole way home. Every other time we have been to MD Express, we have had similarly great experiences with the other doctors. The nurses and staff are also kind, helpful, and professional. I can’t say enough great things about MD Express.”

I was treated for a corneal abrasion at your facility. Your staff were extremely professional. The doctor explained what he was doing every step of the way. The discharge note was extremely helpful and the antibiotic drops were effective within 48 hours. MD Express Williamsburg Urgent Care is a class 1 operation. Thank you.”

Staff was polite and service was quick. The doctor sat down and patiently explained why my infection may have reoccurred. After returning home, I followed up with my primary doctor. Today, Shelley from MD Express called to follow up and see how I was feeling!!! WOW!!! I was a tourist. I may never return to the area but the staff at MD Express wanted to know how I was doing!!! That is above and beyond what I ever would have expected from an Urgent Care facility in a tourist location. KUDOS to Williamsburg Urgent Care MD Express and all the Staff. My husband, granddaughter and myself went to M.D. Express in Hampton. I thought he pulled or strained a muscle in his back. He was seen by Dr. Renforth, who recognized signs of blood clots in the lungs and went to work getting tests done. He arranged for Sentara Hospital to be expecting him. He gave him a shot of blood thinner and something for the pain (which was so bad my husband could barely breathe).  We have used M. D. Express many times after hours for ourselves, children, and grandchildren. We have always had excellent, professional care. Everyone has always made us feel special like they truly care about our health. My husband and I would like to give Dr. Renforth a very special thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I was referred to MD Express on Monticello Avenue last Friday night and was overwhelmed by the kind reception and quick friendly help I received with only a short wait before seeing the doctor. The nurse was helpful and nice. The doctor entered the examining room with a smile on his face and was very upbeat. He diagnosed my problems and wrote me a prescription. I have never been to an urgent care facility with so little waiting time or been treated with such a friendly, optimistic attitude by everyone I came into contact with. I received a follow-up call a couple of days later, still sick, and Nadine invited me back for a second checkup. I was treated exactly the same when I returned in daylight hours so I knew it wasn’t just because they weren’t busy that I had such a short wait to see the doctor . . . Thanks for making a “sick” time more bearable.”

I know that people don’t usually go out of their way to give comments to these review sites, but I wanted people know how exceptional my son was treated. It was the least I could do after my 1-year-old son came in with a 106-degree fever. Everyone swarmed in immediately to cool him down and give meds. Even though we were sent to the ER Dr. Obie was able to get his fever down to 103.0 without my son having a seizure. It was so traumatic. I later received a call from the staff checking on my son at the ER. Our patient care at MD Express was traumatic, but everyone worked well as a team to help get my son better.”- K.W.

We were so pleased with our visit. We were visiting from out of town and did not know what to expect.The office staff was cordial, the wait time was minimal. Aretha was a great prep nurse and very personable and Dr. Mollenkopf was very thorough and complete. She even wore a mask to protect us from her cold.
